About Scarborough Family Golf Centre – Celebrating 22 Years!

Our History

Construction of Scarborough Family Golf Centre began in the summer of 1995. What was originally a farm field, my father Ross and my wife Karen and I began transforming the field into a Family Golf Centre. It was our strong desire to bring to the community a state of the art golf practice facility.

Situated at the southeast corner of Markham Road and Steeles Avenue, our doors opened to golf enthusiasts on April 6, 1996. The facility started with 25 artificial and 10 grass hitting stations, putting green and chipping area.

As the business continued to grow year after year, we continued to reinvest back into the facility. By the end of the first decade, the facility was comprised of over 65 hitting stations, bent grass putting green, chipping area, covered tees and an 18 Hole Miniature Golf Course.

In addition to improving the facility, we have implemented some terrific programs for golfers of all ages. Over the last decade we have hosted many community fundraisers and events as well as hosted our own annual charitable event.

Our 10th season began in the Spring of 2005. Although it was the most successful one yet, it was a mix of emotions for the staff at Scarborough Family Golf Centre. We bid a fond farewell to one of the founders, Ross Randazzo, and lost the lease on the Markham Road location.

Our Future!

In the Spring of 2006, we worked diligently to rebuild our facility at our new location. We wanted to re-create the successful facility of our previous location to our new one which included moving our clubhouse and miniature golf buildings. On May 14, 2006 we welcomed back our customers to our new home, directly east and just minutes from our former location.

Now in our 22nd Year!

Our new site is larger than our previous location, covering some 13 acres. It consists of over 65 hitting stations, comprised of both natural grass as well as artificial turf mats, 15 of which are covered for all weather practice. We also have a larger putting green and separate chipping green to hone your short game. As well, we offer a practice bunker which allows you to either hit out into the range itself or onto a bunker side green to simulate actual course conditions.

In addition to a larger site, the landscape is picture perfect at our new location. Mature trees and vast openness provide a peaceful natural place to practice. While we are literally steps away from our former facility, the country like setting is an added bonus.

Now entering our 22nd season we will continue to improve and update our facility to meet the needs of our customers. We look forward to continuing our tradition of providing the community with a quality family golf entertainment facility. Thank you for your patronage!
